Cloud Observability Engineer

About this role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Observability Engineer with strong expertise in Grafana and Azure to join our Cloud Operations team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, visualizing, and alerting on Azure cloud solutions to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and observability across environments.

This role focuses on building and maintaining advanced Grafana dashboards and data integrations while configuring Azure monitoring tools, troubleshooting performance issues, and automating monitoring workflows.

You should have extensive experience with Grafana, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, ClickHouse, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

Your responsibilities

Configure and manage Grafana, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
Design and maintain Grafana dashboards that visualize performance, availability, and utilization across Azure services, application logs, and metrics
Integrate multiple data sources such as ClickHouse, Log Analytics, and Azure Monitor into Grafana for a unified observability view
Set up automated alerts and troubleshoot service outages, latency, and performance issues
Analyze logs using Kusto Query Language (KQL) and SQL to detect anomalies, correlations, and trends
Track and optimize Azure resource utilization; identify underused or idle assets
Automate monitoring configurations using Terraform, ARM, Bicep, PowerShell, or Azure CLI
Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to enhance system observability and reliability
Generate regular reports and dashboards highlighting system health, trends, and performance insights

Your qualifications, skills and experience

Extensive practical experience designing, building, and maintaining Grafana dashboards for cloud solutions and infrastructure monitoring
Strong hands-on experience integrating Grafana with multiple data sources, including ClickHouse, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and AKS
Deep understanding of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and AKS
Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL) and SQL, with experience creating advanced queries and data visualizations
Familiarity with incident management processes using Jira Service Management and ITIL best practices
Solid understanding of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and application management components
